Position DescriptionChesley Baptist Church is a small, loving Baptist church located in Chesley, Ontario. We are committed to sharing the love of Christ with our community and beyond. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated pastor to lead our congregation. This is a part-time position.Our purpose is to continue being a welcoming church home where individuals and families can grow together in their faith, and where we can equip believers to serve their community.
We desire to be a vibrant, faith-filled community where individuals and families thrive, and where we can reach out to our neighbours with the love of Christ.
Roles and Responsibilities :
Preaching and Teaching : (30%) Deliver relatable, applicable and biblically sound sermons on Sundays. 3 weeks a month, and the rest are to be filled with other options Lead or attend a weekly Bible study for adults or youth.
Prepare and deliver special messages for holidays and other church events. Pastoral Care : (30%) Provide spiritual counselling and support to church members.
Visiting members in the hospital, nursing homes, and “shut-ins”. This may be through, but not limited to : Phone calls
In a team
Coordinating with other members of the church Chesley is a small church, but as the congregation grows, elders need to become more and more involved. The leadership “team” should be involved in dividing the work
The pastor will become a member of the church leadership team, the team should seek to offer guidance and support during times of crisis and difficulty.
Perform Baptisms and funerals for the church family Leadership : (20%) Work with the church staff and volunteer teams.
Represent the church in the community. Ministerial-type community events.
Represent the church at a list of events worked on with the church board Community Outreach : (15%) Support outreach events, such as food drives, clothing drives, and community dinners, attend as able.
Invest in relationships with local organizations and businesses.
Be one who brings the divine into their conversation with believers and potential worshipers alike as part of their daily experience. Administration : (5%) Attend board meetings with active involvement
Prepare and submit required reports to the denomination
Coordinate with the church board and all leadership to make strategic decisions.

The pastor is expected to work approximately 55 hours per month for $ in wages, with the opportunity of additional hours as needed for special events and emergencies.
For approved mileage, there is a stipend of $.50 per kilometre when travelling on behalf of the church.
Qualifications : Passionate about sharing the Gospel and building relationships.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferably some post-secondary theological training
A practical ministry and service background.
Camera Presence and awareness. (live stream every Sunday)
Ability to work and serve collaboratively with a diverse group of people.
Willingness to live near the local community (approximately 45 km or less)
Valid driver's license and vehicle for personal transport. To Apply :
