Our client within the construction industry is seeking an ambitious and technically proficient Assistant Controller to join their team near the Kitchener area. Responsibilities :

Handle full financials and learn the intricacies of the business.

Manage the accounting team, ensuring efficient operations.

Ensure job reports are flowing accurately and on a percent complete basis.

Maintain cash flow and profitability, providing accurate reporting.

Provide financial information to support informed decision-making.

Collaborate with HR and other accounting team members on payroll, AR, AP, and materials payable.

Oversee job performance and budgets for various construction projects.

Qualifications : CPA preferred

Strong fundamental accounting skills are essential

Understanding of construction costs and job reporting, including tracking on a percent complete basis and accurate profitability reporting

Experience in the construction industry is preferred.

Proficiency with Procore, Sage 300 CRE, and ADP is an asset.

Must be able to work 100% in-office
