Job description

IT Analyst (12 positions) for provincial government agency client, North York facility.

Marberg Job Number : 2448.

Job Type : Temporary.

Initial Term : February 15, 2024 to July 31, 2025.

Target Compensation Range : From $35 per hour to $45 per hour, according to experience.

Regular Work Hours : FULL TIME HOURS; 7.25 hours per day not including 1 hour unpaid lunch break, to be worked between 9 am and 9 pm, on a rotating shift basis, Sunday through Saturday (36.25 work hours per week, including evenings and weekends). Must be available to work additional paid hours as required during peak periods.

Work Location : 100% onsite at client's North York office, with free parking provided.

Onsite Dress Code : Business Casual according to client business requirements.

Position Reports To : Manager, Field IT.

Responsibilities Summary :

Utilize advanced experience in Microsoft software, PC desktop hardware, and Network and Telecom cabling including installation techniques and methods to conduct hardware, software, and telecom installation and maintenance work.

  • Conduct imaging of various hardware.
  • Determine client technical issues through troubleshooting, resolve issues or escalate to appropriate support staff.
  • Maintain proper asset and inventory records related to IT equipment.
  • Conduct computer deployments and rollouts as required.
  • Maintain or develop IT documentation and records as required.
  • Adhere to all departmental processes, procedures and protocols.
  • Additional IT installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and analyst responsibilities as required.

Qualifications :

Education : Post Secondary Degree in Computer Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Preferred Work Experience : Approximately 2-5+ years of experience working in a service-desk oriented environment, including incident management processes and procedures.

Technical and Language Skills Requirements :

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft software products, PC desktop hardware, and Network and Telecom cabling, including installation techniques and methods.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL, VPN clients, Citrix, mobile handhelds, VoIP, and landline telecom.
  • Advanced English skills, both written, and verbal, to effectively communicate and interact with individuals at all levels of communication and technical ability, including documenting and reporting.
  • Task -Based Qualifications and Additional Attributes :

  • Strong interpersonal skills, and demonstrated experience troubleshooting with clients over the phone or in person in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to pay close attention to detail and adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform in a busy, constantly changing, multi-tasking work environment.
  • Strong organizational skills to enable effective management of multiple, shifting priorities.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting research assignments for technology related issues and background knowledge gathering on new initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying and implementing process improvements.
  • Punctual, responsible, and reliable. Demonstrated record of professional conduct and character.
  • Proven ability to professionally handle confidential information and exercise good judgement in the interpretation and application of instructions and organization policy.
  • Proficient de-escalation skills. Ability to surmount internal and external job pressures. Excellent listening skills, and the ability to provide and receive effective feedback.
  • Demonstrated successful experience of prioritizing work, making decisions and communicating with others within a values framework of respect, equity, anti-racism, diversity and inclusivity.
  • Additional Requirements :

  • Must be able to work all rotating shifts as scheduled between 9 am and 9 pm, Sunday through Saturday.
  • Must be available to work additional paid hours as required during peak periods.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada, providing satisfactory documentation upon request.
  • Ability to work 100% onsite, abiding by organization health and safety policies
  • Ability to declare personal Non-Conflict of Interest in execution of assignment responsibilities.
  • Provision of certification of AODA and OHSA online training course completion prior to assignment start.
