Insulator – Join a Team Building Canada’s Next Generation of Naval Vessels

Step into a career where your craftsmanship directly supports some of the most significant shipbuilding projects in Canada. We’re a leading provider of scaffolding and mechanical insulation services, and we’re looking for skilled Insulators to join our growing team. You’ll be part of major long‑term ship projects for the Canadian Coast Guard and Royal Canadian Navy.

What You’ll Do

• Install, remove, and repair thermal and acoustical insulation on industrial equipment such as ducting, piping, heat exchangers, tanks, and vessels
• Interpret drawings and specifications to determine insulation requirements
• Select appropriate insulation materials and securement methods based on temperature, location, and equipment use
• Measure, cut, and fit insulation materials around complex shapes and obstructions
• Install vapor barriers and finish surfaces using metal cladding, canvas, PVC, or cement

What You Bring

• Apprentice or Journeyman mechanical insulator
• Skilled with hand and power tools
• Ability to meet security requirements (Permanent Resident or Canadian Citizen)
• Strong English communication skills
• Completion of CSTS
• Reliable transportation

Bonus Skills

• Experience in insulation, carpentry, or sheet metal
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Canadian citizenship (preferred)

Your Work Environment

• Shipyard environment in North Vancouver
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5:45 AM–2:00 PM, with weekend overtime available
• On-site parking provided

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Vancouver, BC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr.
