Join BBA as a Senior Automation Technician and leverage your experience by actively contributing to various stages of high-impact machine safety projects applied to automated systems.

Your leadership skills will be essential every day as you contribute to technology choices, prepare service proposals, and develop safety solutions tailored to our clients' operational realities.

You will also participate in business development by showcasing the company's expertise. In this role, you will have the opportunity to take the lead and be at the heart of the action, collaborating closely with talented individuals. An overview of your mandates and responsibilities: Act as a technical expert in industrial safety related to automation. Identify, analyze, and mitigate industrial risks related to the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of automated equipment. Conduct on-site risk analyses, taking into account actual machine usage and operational behaviors. Support operational teams in managing changes that impact safety. Define client needs, project scope, and service offerings. Assign and review work. of technicians, technical staff, and drafters assigned to the project, and evaluate the technical scope of the deliverables. Develop, maintain, and improve internal standards and best practices. Train and support operators, technicians, and supervisors on safety aspects related to automated systems. Ensure the quality of technical deliverables, adherence to budget, and compliance with deadlines as per the mandate. Interact with clients and participate in business development. Act as a leader in the preparation of technical and commercial proposals.

The Experience You Bring

  • College diploma in industrial electronics technology, automation and control, electrotechnics, instrumentation and control, electrical engineering, or any other relevant technical training.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in industrial automation, machine safety, operational safety, or industrial control.
  • In-depth knowledge of operational safety principles.
  • Knowledge of applicable standards, including CSA Z432, ISO 12100, ISO 13849, and RSST.
  • Experience in field risk analysis, validation of safety solutions, and support of operational teams.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and comment on electrical diagrams, control schematics, technical documents, and automation standards.
  • Good understanding of automated systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), operator interfaces, instrumentation, and industrial equipment.
  • Availability to travel between our offices in the Greater Montreal area.
  • Advanced level of English to facilitate effective collaboration with BBA offices and/or clients located in English-speaking Canadian provinces and internationally. The frequency of English use may fluctuate from occasional to daily depending on ongoing projects.
  • Advanced level of French required to facilitate effective collaboration with BBA offices and/or clients located in Quebec.
  • Asset: TÜV Nord CMSE, CFSE, or equivalent certification.
