Pricing Analyst Role

Position Purpose:

The pricing analyst drives the execution of the pricing strategy by assisting in the development of optimal prices while participating in the timely delivery of quotes and contracts to the customer. The position will require collaboration with Sales Management, Strategic Marketing, Product Management & IT to drive & improve pricing strategy. This position will analyze pricing analytics, as well as drive improvements to the Canadian model & analytics. This position will drive process compliance regarding our global pricing tool and will be an expert of his or her market segments.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Drive price optimization and price determination as a pricing analyst.
  2. Analyze and report on inconsistencies and identify opportunities to optimize sales and profitability through price strategies.
  3. Work with Business Manager, strategic marketing and product management to develop and implement price strategies.
  4. Identify opportunities to enhance current data available to global pricing team.
  5. Analyze large amounts of quantitative and qualitative data and translate it into actionable insights and relevant takeaways.
  6. Work within our global price execution infrastructure and drive improvements in price development lead time.
  7. Drive process compliance and provide corrective actions where needed.
  8. Develop additional analytical tools to assist Global Pricing Team.
  9. Act as a project lead on system enhancements.
  10. Identify & drive continuous improvement to existing processes & procedures.

Technical and Functional Skills:

  • Understand the rationale behind pricing recommendations and the impact on profit margins.
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative and qualitative analysis skills required.
  • Strategic thinker and problem-solver.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently with broad general guidance against a framework of defined business objectives.
  • Excellent communication skills and influencing skills. Ability to work cross-functionally and effectively influence and partner. Listens and builds constructive relationships, uses diplomacy and tact. Maintain strong communication with Sales, Sales Support, Product Management, and Strategic Marketing.
  • Understanding of large data structures/modeling.
  • Maintain high level of market and product knowledge.
  • Ability to produce strategic analysis to proactively identify issues and drive corrective actions.
  • Detail oriented, organized and analytical. Ability to manage multiple projects at the same.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and Power BI.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Data Analytics, Engineering or similar with 2+ years post qualification experience in a related analytical role or a combination of Education and 7+ years' experience.
  • Level of role will be dependent upon years/level of experience and education
  • Eligible to work in Canada
