Salary Range : $57,616 to $80,574 per annum
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager, Budgeting and Reporting the Financial Planning Analyst assists in the development, planning and coordinating of budgets and the ongoing monitoring of financial results. As well, at this level, the incumbent focuses on process improvements and mentoring others in budget preparation, analysis, and review.
Key Responsibilities Include
Budget Preparation
- Contribute to the Business Planning Cycle.
- Participate in the development of the annual capital and operating budgets process
- Collect information to support the budget, conduct research as requested
- Communicate budget information and instructions to budget managers
- Act a liaison to assigned units in assisting budget managers with their annual budget submissions and in the development of their administrative and program quarterly projections for revenue and expenditures
- Act as primary point of contact to departmental users of the financial systems in providing technical assistance and financial on-boarding of new budget managers for assigned units.
- Manage financial data required to support the Business Development Unit for Contract Training and Apprenticeship and ensure proper accruals are reflected quarterly.
- Conduct research on program proposals and costs
- Conduct scenario analysis of budget through modelling
- Lead special projects or initiatives designed to improve the budget process such as with the ancillaries' costs centers (print center, cafeteria / café, bookstores)
- Perform financial review of hiring approvals (staffing) for assigned units.
