The Lazaridis School of Business & Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in the Strategic Management Area, commencing July 1, 2026. This position is subject to budgetary approval.

The Lazaridis School of Business & Economics has over 150 full-time faculty and more than 6000 undergraduate and graduate students on campuses in Waterloo, Brantford, and Milton, Ontario. With a mission to achieve excellence in management education, the school offers undergraduate and graduate degrees, including Honours BBA, MBA, MFin, MMA and PhD. Waterloo is a highly innovative and dynamic region. It is home to a number of leading high technology firms, insurance companies and educational / research institutions (e.g. University of Waterloo, the Balsillie School of International Affairs and the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics).

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Strategic Management or related field, or completion of Ph.D. within one year and have a strong record or promise in both research and teaching.

Successful candidates for the position must have demonstrated ability to :

  • Conduct research in the field of Strategic Management or International Management;
  • Publish in top-tier peer-reviewed academic business journals;
  • Maintain a highly productive and coherent research agenda;
  • Effectively teach multi-section core strategic management courses including international strategy to undergraduate business students using a common course outline;
  • Communicate the relevance of their research to a business audience;
  • Work collaboratively and enhance a culture of inquiry, collegiality and creativity.
