Reporting to the Superintendent - Wastewater Treatment Plant, the Wastewater Treatment Plant Assistant Shift Operator is responsible for daily maintenance, equipment repairs, cleaning duties, and conducting tests to meet stringent standards of the City's Wastewater Treatment facility. The position is required to work shift work as well as perform stand-by duties.
Your key responsibilities
- Conducts daily maintenance tasks, equipment repairs, cleaning, and routine inspections, to ensure the efficient operation of wastewater and water treatment systems.
- Performs sampling and testing of wastewater, sludge, and water to meet regulatory standards and maintain optimal treatment performance.
- Identifies and troubleshoots operational issues, implementing corrective actions to prevent and minimize process disruptions.
- Collects and analyzes samples, maintains accurate records, and monitors test results to support compliance and operational efficiency.
- Ensures adherence to the City's Alberta Environmental Protection Operating Approval by maintaining compliance with all relevant environmental regulations and standards.
