Job type
  • Full-time
  • Quick Apply
Job description

Valsoft is looking for a Benefits Administrator to join our Benefits Team in Montreal, supporting employees across our US and Canadian operations.

ABOUT VALSOFT CORP.:
Established in Canada in 2015, Valsoft has grown to a global portfolio of 118+ companies, acquiring and developing vertical market software companies, enabling each business to deliver the best mission-critical solutions for customers in their respective industries. A key tenet of Valsoft’s philosophy is to invest in well-established businesses and foster an entrepreneurial environment that molds companies into leaders in their respective industries. Valsoft looks to buy, hold and create value through long-term partnerships with existing management.

INVESTMENT APPROACH:
Unlike private equity and venture capital firms, we are Entrepreneurs who Buy, Enhance and Grow Software Businesses. That’s right; we don’t sell businesses. We form a strategic alliance with existing management teams. We recognize the dedication and perseverance required to create a firm and place a premium on customers’ and workers’ well-being over short-term goals.

CULTURE:
Valsoft is more than just a place to work; we’re a team. We mean it when we say people are our greatest assets, so investing in them is our number one priority. We create an environment where our employees feel first-day-on-the-job excitement, day after day, creating a culture of high performers and collaboration. We celebrate our milestones, and we’re proud of them. We Dream Big, Stay Humble and Stay Hungry.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their benefits career who has a foundation of benefits knowledge, a sharp eye for detail, and a genuine passion for helping people. As a Benefits Administrator, you will support employees across a large, multi-entity organization with both US and Canadian operations. The role is well-suited to someone who enjoys solving problems for employees, maintains a high standard for accuracy, and wants to grow their expertise in benefits administration, compliance, and systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Serve as a frontline point of contact for employee questions from our US and Canadian workforce regarding enrollments, eligibility, life events, terminations, and general plan benefits, with support from the team for more complex inquiries.
• Serve as a point of contact for internal departments, including Finance and Human Resources, on benefits-related questions and issues.
• Process new hire benefit enrollments and terminations accurately and within established service-level targets.
• Support day-to-day plan administration across retirement, medical, dental, vision, and ancillary benefits.
• Maintain accurate employee data across HRIS/payroll systems, including ADP, and benefits carrier platforms.
• Assist with invoice reconciliation and billing reviews across benefits carriers.
• Support 401(k) administration tasks, including data tracking and coordination with the recordkeeper.
• Maintain eligibility documentation and new hire benefits materials.
• Monitor and track employee leaves of absence, including key dates and benefit continuation status.
• Support ad hoc projects, including acquisitions, system changes, audits, and other initiatives as team needs evolve.

REQUIRED/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Foundational knowledge of employee benefits, including health, dental, vision, and retirement plans.
• Excellent attention to detail, with the precision and accuracy required to handle sensitive employee data and financial reconciliations.
• Patient and clear communication skills, with the ability to explain benefits concepts to employees who may be unfamiliar with benefits terminology.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and open items simultaneously.
• Solid Excel skills, including formulas, formatting, and data organization.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with employees and internal teams.
• Sound discretion when handling confidential and sensitive employee information.
• Adaptable and comfortable working in an evolving environment without rigid structure, with a strong ability to learn quickly.

ADDITIONAL/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Prior experience supporting benefits across both US and Canadian employee populations is an asset.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field is an asset.
• Entry-level to early-career profile, with approximately 0–2 years of relevant experience.

Ready to join a collaborative and innovative team where you can make an immediate impact?

DESCRIPTION :
