We are currently seeking an Electrical Field Service Technician to join our team. In this role, you will contribute to the installation, commissioning, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment and systems at customer facilities, including utility, commercial, and industrial power systems spanning low and high‑voltage applications. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, engineers, and customers to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality. This position requires strong hands-on electrical expertise, effective problem-solving skills, and a willingness to travel to job sites throughout the Atlantic Region as required, while representing the company in a professional manner.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Maintain or Commission Substation equipment including Power Transformers, Circuit Breakers, HV Switches and Instrument Transformers
- Maintain distribution equipment, such as breaker testing, relay testing, HV Switches and transformers
- Relay Protection upgrades and modifications
- Custom breaker and electrical switchgear retrofits
- LV breaker repair and refurbishments
- Read and interpret electrical AC & DC schematics, AC three-line diagrams
- Be familiar with industry specific codes and Standards (CEC, IEEE, and NETA)
- Ability and willingness to travel out of town for commissioning or maintenance projects
- May be required to provide emergency services to the company's customers on short notice
- Required to work in an industrial and outdoor substation environment
- Familiarity or willing to gain familiarity with testing different types of high voltage and low voltage equipment
- Deliver on time and professional services, build, and maintain customer relationships
- Report, record, compute and process electrical test information in accordance with accepted standard practices
- Co-ordinate the day-to-day functions on a job-by-job basis, such as but not limited to, compliance with all Health and Safety standards and regulations, equipment and materials, resolving conflicts, timely and accurate submission of paperwork
- Exercise due diligence in the care and operation of corporate assets
- Carry out such other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned
- Environmental requirements will range from frequent to occasional lifting, carrying, bending and reaching

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Electrician license (Construction Electrician)
- Electrical technologist diploma
The following certifications/designations are considered an asset
- LV & MV relay testing
- Previous distribution maintenance activities
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 2-3 years of field experience
SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Construction scheduling, planning, and execution
- Able to read electrical drawings
- Established electrical utilities practices, procedures and techniques
- Applicable local and provincial labour codes
- Organization and time management
- Willing and able to travel within the Atlantic Region
- Valid New Brunswick Class 5 Driver's License
- Security clearance
