Job description

Who We Are

At Gibbons Whistler, we’re all about Making People Happy. Since 1979, we have been the backbone of Whistler hospitality bringing people together through unforgettable experiences.

Everything we do is rooted in our core values: Encourage Trust, Have Fun, Show Kindness, Lead With Purpose, and Commit to Excellence.

The Opportunity:

Are you passionate about adventure, leadership, and creating unforgettable experiences on the water? The Adventure Group is seeking a Rafting Guide to lead adrenaline-filled rafting tours through the stunning rivers of Whistler and Squamish this summer.

If you’re an experienced instructor ready to take charge, share your knowledge, and create once-in-a-lifetime moments for guests, this is your chance to join a fun, supportive, and purpose-driven team.

Wage and perks:

  • Pay Range: $27.50–$28.85/hour (depending on experience) PLUS opportunities to earn guest tips.
  • 50% off food & beverage at all Gibbons venues
  • Adventure perks: 20% off The Adventure Group for you and your friends & family
  • Accommodation discounts: 20% off at The Adara Hotel and Gibbons Life Condos
  • Wellness perks: 20% off at The Spa at Whistler
  • Exclusive partner discounts at local Whistler businesses
  • Flexible schedules and a supportive team culture
  • Access to community events and staff appreciation nights
  • Growth opportunities in Whistler’s most dynamic hospitality group – we’re passionate about promoting from within and supporting your career journey.
  • Immersive work environment steps from the mountains – we take our core purpose of “Have Fun” very seriously.

What You Bring to the Raft

  • 3–5 years of experience as a senior whitewater rafting instructor and/or trip leader
  • Swift Water Rescue Technician Certification
  • BC River Outfitters Association guide license (or equivalent)
  • First Aid Certification (minimum 16-hour; 80-hour preferred)
  • Strong ability to assess river conditions and lead groups safely
  • Whitewater kayaking skills (asset)
  • Class 4 commercial driver’s license (asset)
  • Fluent English communication skills (additional languages an asset)

Your Days Will Look Like

  • Lead unforgettable whitewater adventures through Whistler and Squamish’s most stunning rivers.
  • Keep the stoke high with your energy, enthusiasm, and passion for the outdoors.
  • Guide guests safely down the river, following top-tier rafting and safety protocols every step of the way.
  • Kick off every trip with confidence by delivering fun and informative safety briefings.
  • Read the river like a pro—assess conditions, make smart calls, and ensure every guest feels secure and excited.
  • Work with an awesome team of adventure pros who’ve got your back both on and off the water.
  • Share your love for nature—teach guests about local history, wildlife, and river culture along the way.
  • Get hands-on with gear setup, maintenance, and post-trip clean-up—because every great trip starts with great prep.
  • Create epic memories that guests will be talking about long after their Whistler trip.
  • Bring the fun—lead with positivity, kindness, and teamwork to embody The Adventure Group spirit.

Ready to Join the Team?
Apply now and help us create unforgettable adventure experiences in Whistler and Squamish this summer.

At Gibbons Whistler, our core values—Encourage Trust, Have Fun, Show Kindness, Lead With Purpose, and Commitment to Excellence—guide everything we do. We believe that fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion is essential to living by these core values. We warmly welcome applicants of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences to join us in creating a workplace where kindness thrives and we make people happy!
