Our Automation & Digitalization division seeks a Senior Engineer who specializes in the design, development, and implementation of control systems for industrial facilities.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Lead control systems projects from inception to completion, ensuring that project goals, timelines, and budgets aremet. Design and develop control systems, including hardware and software components, to meet the specific requirements of a project. Develop and implement control algorithms and logic. Integrate control systems with existing or new equipment, machinery, or processes. Test and debug control systems to ensure proper functionality and adherence to specifications. Identify andresolve any issues or malfunctions through systematic troubleshooting and debugging techniques. Prepare technical documentation, including system specifications, design documents, user manuals, andmaintenance procedures.
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, budgets, and resourcing, including managing the procurement ofnecessary equipment and materials.
- Define project objectives, scope, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders, including identifying opportunities for additional automation and electrification scope within the project.
- Manage project risks and issues, including developing contingency plans and mitigating strategies, and communicating progress and challenges to stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and supply chain, to ensure alignmentand timely delivery of project milestones.
- Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and internal teams, to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide regular project status updates to stakeholders and senior leadership, including presenting project plans, budgets, and schedules.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers and technologists.
- Assist with the development of proposals.
- Ensure compliance with ANDRITZ Quality System.
- Embody, demonstrate, and reinforce the ANDRITZ core values and behaviours.
When selecting candidates, we will be looking for the following:
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Engineering with a focus on automation and electrification technologies.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in industrial engineering; preferably in Pulp & Paper.
- Consulting engineering experience an asset.
- Registered as a PEO or OIQ.
- Strong understanding of automation and electrification technologies, including knowledge of industry standards, best practices, and emerging trends.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate project risks and issues.
- Project management experience an asset.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Ability and willingness to travel to domestic and international sites.
