Wood is seeking a Lead Civil Engineer to join ourMining & Minerals business group. Reporting to the Department Manager, Civil, Structural & Architectural, this position is located at our #Vancouver, BC, #Burlington, ON, or #Saskatoon, SK offices. This role has overall responsibility for delivering Civil Engineering services on our major projects. Final salary will be based on relevant and applicable experience, education, and the specific skill set and qualifications required for the role.

Expected:

  • Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Civil Engineering with eligibility to register as a Professional Engineer in Canada
  • 10-15 years of earthwork, buried and surface run utilities experience
  • Tailings/slurry piping layout design experience is an asset
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Ability to mentor junior engineers and design personnel
  • Experience in storm water management, stormwater runoff calculations, sizing of ditches, culverts and ponds
  • Good understanding of various coordinate systems and survey controls
  • Experience in interpreting and applying geotechnical design recommendations on civil designs
  • Experience in interpreting geotechnical & hydrology reports
  • Engineering experience in private fire protection systems
  • Excellent organizational, technical, written and computer skills
  • Knowledge of general civil designs and an understanding of industry codes, standards and construction methods
  • Experience with Civil 3D software would be an asset
  • Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required

Desirable:

  • Experience with Civil 3D software would be an asset
