Overview
Provide support for the Engineering department as assigned by engineers and engineering leadership. Interact with associates on the floor to provide resolution to problems.
Responsibilities
1. Support production in regards to quality, processes, equipment, safety, etc.
2. Assist in estimating new parts and establishing new processes.
3. Provide support in the development of work instructions, visual aids, routings, and ECN’s.
4. Review existing standards and compare to actual on an ongoing basis.
5. Work with Engineers to improve methods to manufacture quality parts, safely and at the lowest possible cost.
6. Update standards as required.
7. Recommend new processes or equipment to improve capacity, productivity, and quality.
8. Provide justification for new equipment.
9. Perform CNC and Robotic Programming.
10. Provide CADD / CAM Support
11. Assist on special project as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and / or Experience and Certifications and Licenses
Associate degree (A.A.) from a two-year college or technical school in a field such as engineering, industrial technology, quality engineering, statistic, or other related area; and one to three years related experience and / or training in manufacturing engineering; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills and Abilities
Ability to work effectively with tools and equipment such as precision measuring equipment, computers, and general office equipment.
Familiarity with extrusion processes, alloys, tempers and their relationship to fabrication and anodizing.
Ability to effectively apply and utilize statistical process control (SPC) techniques.
Possess good mechanical aptitude.
Ability to read blueprints.
Ability to interpret customer product and quality requirements.
Possess basic computer skills to include data entry and use of software such as Microsoft Word and Excel and Symix system.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working and public relations advocating team concept and participative management style.
Possess strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact effectively with diverse personalities and individuals at various levels within and outside the organization.
