Are you an experienced Journeyperson Commercial Transport Technician — or a senior 4th‑year apprentice / ticketed technician — looking for long‑term stability and a rewarding career in the West Kootenays? Join Keolis Canada and help keep the region’s transit fleet reliable, safe, and moving. We will also consider qualified ASTs and HETs with air brakes and CVIP who have relevant on‑road fleet experience, as well as 4th‑year Commercial Transport apprentices nearing ticket completion. Enjoy work–life balance in a region with strong outdoor recreation : skiing at Red Mountain, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, and other year‑round outdoor activities are nearby. The West Kootenays offers a small‑town feel with Housing affordability, easy access to nature and community amenities.

Location

  • Primary shop : 1175 Lower China Creek Rd, Genelle, BC V0G 1G0 (New shop)

What You’ll Do

  • Diagnose and repair commercial transport / transit vehicles using advanced diagnostic tools
  • Perform preventative maintenance and CVIP inspections (as qualified and authorized)
  • Operate buses for testing and diagnostics as required
  • Maintain accurate service records and support parts procurement
  • Collaborate with fellow technicians and management to meet shop priorities
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace
  • Mentor apprentices and support training and development initiatives
  • What We’re Looking For

    Required Qualifications

  • Journeyperson Commercial Transport Technician (Red Seal)
  • OR

  • Automotive Service Technician ( AST) or Heavy Equipment Technician (HET ) Red Seal with demonstrated commercial / on-road fleet experience, air brake endorsement, and the ability to meet CVIP regulatory requirements (including inspection sign-off where applicable)
  • OR
  • 4th-year registered Commercial Transport Technician apprentice close to ticket completion
  • Air Brake endorsement
  • Demonstrated competency in brakes, steering, suspension , and preventative maintenance
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with air brake endorsement (maximum 3 demerits)
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and safety-first mindset
  • CVIP & Compliance

  • CVIP license preferred
  • Candidates without CVIP may be considered if willing and eligible to obtain , or able to meet regulatory requirements under supervision during onboarding
  • Bonus Points

  • Transit, coach, or fleet maintenance experience
  • Experience with electronic work order / maintenance management systems
  • Class 1, 2, or 3 license with air endorsement
  • Schedule & Work Hours

  • Full‑time, 40 hours per week; exact schedule to be finalized with the team
  • Flexibility required to support operational coverage Example current coverage : one shift runs Monday–Friday (approx. 8 : 00–16 : 30) and another Tuesday–Saturday (approx. 7 : 00–15 : 30)

    Anticipated requirement : ability to work one weekend day as part of the schedule / rotation

    We may consider 4x10‑hour shifts (four 10‑hour days) subject to operational needs

  • Note : Apprentices are not scheduled to work alone; staffing is planned to ensure coverage
  • Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly Rate (Journeyperson) : $ – $ (based on experience and qualifications)
  • 4th‑Year Apprentice : competitive apprentice rate, with progression to Journeyperson pay scale
