Your role
Radio-Canada Ontario is seeking an enthusiastic Senior Editor with strong journalistic skills and solid experience in digital news to join the daily news editorial team in Ontario, specifically at our Windsor station.
You will contribute to the Radio-Canada Ontario website and its associated digital platforms and will be required to write news stories under tight deadlines. You must be able to create and organize digital news content and enhance stories with multimedia elements to increase their value for audiences. All work must be carried out in accordance with Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices.
You may be required to write and present a combination of headlines and local, regional, national, and international news for the web and radio.
Working in a highly integrated newsroom, you may also be called upon to present reports and news content on other platforms as needed.
NOTE : This is a full‑time, on‑site position, Monday to Friday. The selected candidate may be required to work overtime and on statutory holidays. Work schedules may change based on operational needs.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate and foster exceptional skills in continuous news writing, editing, and story assembly, while respecting Radio-Canada’s style and formats and working under tight deadlines; work in accordance with journalistic and programming policies, as well as CBC / Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices.
- Edit and write content for publication on the Radio-Canada Windsor website, the program Matins sans frontières, our applications, and associated social media platforms.
- Prepare and deliver news bulletins on air, province‑wide, as required.
- Work under the direction of a producer, while demonstrating initiative and sound judgment.
- Coordinate the activities of other staff members as needed; close collaboration with other journalists is essential.
