The academic year starts on September 1 and ends on August 31.

– Conduct an extensive literature review of the national and international research, policy and programs on the processing of cases in Bail Court.- Carry out 50-60 hours of bail court observations in both video remand court and show cause hearings in the Ottawa Courthouse (161 Elgin Street, Ottawa).- Code preliminary quantitative and qualitative data on the processing as well as the outcomes of observed bail cases.
Qualifications :
Graduate-level knowledge of the operation of bail court in Canada, as well as the relevant legislative, judicial, policy and scholarly research / literature on the topic- Minimum of 75-100 hours of bail court observations conducted in an Ontario bail court- Direct experience in the collection, coding and analyses of quantitative and qualitative data on the routine processing of bail court cases (including both first appearance cases and show cause hearings)- General knowledge of international trends and practices- Experience with SPSS / STATA.
