TalentSphere has partnered with a well established and award winning small to mid-sized Architecture Firm with an office in Calgary to assist them in finding a high level Intermediate to Senior Design Architect to join their team. This firm have an excellent reputation for high-end and unique design and have an excellent portfolio of work encompassing both large scale developments as well as small, boutique projects across residential, commercial, hospitality and first nations work. This firm are continuing to grow and this is a great opportunity to join their collaborative team as they continue to produce award winning projects and provide excellent service delivery to their clients.

THE JOB

This role would suit a well rounded architect or architectural professional who is comfortable to work on all phases of a project from schematic design and design development through to high level detailing of technical work and design of details. The ideal candidate will have an appreciation for great design work and will come from a background demonstrating this, even if they haven't been extensively involved in design. The role will have you not only creating high level designs and working with clients and the team to produce these, but also giving input into construction documents, development permits, submittals and tender, construction administration, city liaison, project management and assisting junior staff. You will be involved in a variety of projects across different sectors, both small and large.

WHAT'S REQUIRED

The successful candidate will possess strong design skills and have a portfolio demonstrating this. Robust technical skills are also required and you must be well versed in working with a variety of project work and be capable of working both independently and in teams.

Whilst the role will be more front end / design focused, you will also be involved in project management and seeing projects through from schematic design, through to completion.

Technical skills must including designing details, drawing details, producing full working drawing packages and construction documents and development permits. Good Revit skills are required.

Ideally you will be registered with the AAA or eligible to become registered in the future, and have between 7  to 20 years of combined industry experience. Technologists and designers will also be considered if they have a dynamic skill set and resume.

Ultimately, this firm has a high standard with regards to quality architecture, and so building and project performance must be top priorities for you. Lastly, strong written and verbal communication skills will accompany your dedicated work ethic.
