Data Engineer (Azure / Databricks)

Location

Toronto, Ontario (Hybrid – twice a week)

Preferred Qualifications

Azure certifications related to data & analytics. Experience with strong SQL and PL / SQL blocks. Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Synapse, One Data Lake, Schedulers like Work Load Automation.

Key Responsibilities

5-8 years of experience in data engineering with strong expertise in Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Spark SQL.
Hands‑on experience in building scalable ETL / ELT pipelines and transforming large datasets for SQL Server or other storage systems.
Expertise in SQL, PL / SQL, and performance tuning for large‑scale data workloads.
Work with job schedulers such as Workload Automation (WLA), Control‑M, or Azure Automation to manage and optimize batch processes.
Conduct performance tuning while collaborating with the Informatica team to compare test results and perform parallel testing for validation.
Collaborate with engineering and product teams to understand complex data systems and deliver optimized solutions.
Perform performance tuning and ensure high availability and scalability of data workflows.
