FInd your forever place!
Come work at a place where we value the experience of sharing food together, and the cultural context of food with diverse audiences.
Ross Creek believes in providing locally produced, high quality, broad appeal food. We have a seasonal menu, which takes advantage of our substantial organic gardens, and we work with local suppliers whenever possible to provide excellent nutrition, taste, and education about healthy and delicious local food. The Centre Chef is dynamic, interested in using local produce (when possible and feasible), loves being part of a team and working with volunteers.
The Centre Chef must have reliable transportation, care about food, work well with people and be extremely clean and organized. You could learn to forage in our woods and fields. Working around the cooking duties for programs and people at Ross Creek, you might teach afterschool programs or other outreach, and make deep connections with local farms and support organisations to reduce food waste and support those affected by food insecurity.
A spirit of positivity, and creativity, a sense of humour, camaraderie, and passion for our work are what we look for.
Rate : $38,000-$39,500 to start – and we can provide accommodation for a brief period to help someone settle in the area.
Benefits : Co-pay health and dental package, paid creative renewal time, etc.
Type of Employment : Salaried Full time, 40-hour work week
Note : Must have own transportation, Ross Creek Centre is not on a public bus route.
