I. SUMMARY
This position is responsible for overseeing everyday activities conducted by your team, and ensuring you have the manpower available to perform the tasks. You will be responsible for determining the priorities of work to be done, this could be influenced by the customers needs combined with your initiative. When performing tasks it is crucial to follow the procedures in place so best practices can be disseminated throughout your team. Acting as a conduit between the Assistant Site Leader, the Site Leader and your crew you will need to be flexible with your time and willing to provide constructive ways to find solutions to reoccurring and new issues.
II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with the Panel Technician and Rail Technical advisor to delegate work flow and prioritize tasks throughout the shift.
- Ensure equipment and housekeeping checklists are being completed properly and on time
- Facilitate Turn Over meetings and drive the emphasis on safety over production in these meetingsProviding quality hazard recognition and encouraging your crew to do the same
- Audit and work alongside crew members so you can provide constructive feedback during quarterly reviews to those on your team
- Support all activities sponsored by Railserve and the Customer which may include team building events outside of work
- Flexibility in scheduling.
- Support the area Training Coordinator in developing your crew’s trainingTrack who has opportunities to learn new areasMotivate those on your crew to
- Be willing to participate in training for yourself that focuses on leadership and other management principles in the future.
- Works with other members of the department’s natural work teams and subject matter experts, including non-Dow service providers within Site Logistics and / or 3rd. party service providers, in order to : assure uninterrupted Site Logistics facility operationsavoid unplanned events
- Actively participate in the Site Logistics EH&S programs, including peer to peer auditing, Safe Work Permitting, and Isolation of energy.
- Utilize established tools, processes, and procedures.Assist in the review and update process of these procedures
- Comply with the department’s Operating Discipline Management System (ODMS)
- Must wear personal protective equipment including a respirator and / or other PPE that covers the face
- Be flexible with your expectations as the role will evolve and adapt to changing circumstances

F. Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move heavy weights (over 50 pounds). This incumbent regularly works in an outdoor environment, in various weather conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic chemicals, and must be able to wear a respirator and / or other PPE that covers the face. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and / or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
