As the successful candidate you will help develop, test, and verify the GNC software for autonomous surface (USV) and underwater (AUV) vehicles, tackling some of the hardest navigation challenges in the field.

This position is available 100% Remote in Canada with occasional travel to client sites as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing in support of maritime system certification
  • Create and execute detailed test plans, procedures, and reports

Required skills:

  • C for embedded source code development
  • Python for test automation

  • Familiarity with navigation fundamentals including INS, GNSS, Doppler velocity logs, or acoustic positioning

Nice-to-have skills:

  • Direct experience with USVs, AUVs, ROVs, or other unmanned maritime platforms
  • Knowledge of GPS-denied navigation, sensor fusion, or SLAM in underwater environments
  • Familiarity with dynamic positioning (DP) systems or wave motion compensation
  • Experience with maritime certification standards (DNV, IEC 61508, IMO guidelines)
  • Background in acoustic communication systems or subsea sensing
