Job description
Job Description

The project manager is responsible for all aspects of project delivery, up to final closure, and ensures the approval of deliverables. They contribute to resource management to achieve the objectives within the defined time and budget constraints.

  • The role involves organizing, directing, and controlling the human, material, financial, and technological resources essential to the delivery of one or more medium- to very-large-scale, cross-functional projects.
  • The project manager is responsible for the project plan and acts as the central point of contact for all contributors involved in the project delivery (sponsor, managers, and other contributors), leveraging their planning and coordination skills.

Client is seeking a Senior Project Manager with 8 years of experience managing complex projects, capable of working independently in a high-visibility, multi-project environment. The context is explicitly rooted in Cybersecurity, with a specialization expected in Cryptography or Identification, Knowledge, and Surveillance (ICSA): either of these two areas of expertise is sufficient to qualify the candidate. This is not a generalist project management profile: cybersecurity experience must be recent and demonstrated within a large organization. The role is cross-functional (internal and external contributors, sponsor, steering committee), requiring strong political acumen and influential leadership at all levels. The job description emphasizes accountability, governance control, and risk management, indicating an environment with formalized processes and an established governance structure.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for developing the single project plan, taking into account the issues, complexity, stakeholders, and integration with other projects, while ensuring consistency with the sponsor's business objectives;
  • In collaboration with the various contributors, be responsible for deliverables to meet business objectives and create value while respecting agreed-upon terms, costs, and deadlines;
  • Perform functional supervision and coordinate internal and external contributors (integrators or others) involved in project delivery;
  • Authorize any requests for changes to resources and ensure quality control of work and adherence to the governance and methodology to be applied within the project framework;
  • Develop risk analyses, impact assessments, and related strategies, taking into account various factors to manage the project's risk level;
  • Be responsible for providing a single reporting structure and project progress status updates to the sponsor, the steering committee, and other decision-making bodies;
  • Assume responsibility for the management and execution of various strategic or highly complex mandates or files in support of their immediate supervisor; Collaborate in the management of internal and external suppliers.

Requirements

General skills sought:

  • Ability to work in complex environments and overcome challenges Strong communication skills at all levels Business acumen Political acumen Ability to foster a collaborative culture Maneuverable leadership Planning and coordination in ambiguous situations Influential leadership at all levels Strategic vision and alignment of Cybersecurity teams Mastery of complex Cybersecurity execution Executive-level communication and decision-making.
