Job descriptionOversee and drive Field Information Request (FIR) process for Hitachi mining equipment. Oversee and drive the Hitachi mining service bulletin (S / B) process nationwide. Facilitation of mining vendor technical meetings to ensure forward progress on key technical issues and product problem resolution. Define and implement a consistent reliability and technical support process and team to ensure : Continuous review of component rebuild processes and procedures, developing and implementing improvements to add value, increase reliability, and reduce cost. Improved communication with OEM on all product problems CI opportunities. Support and facilitate mining vendor field visits, pre-production testing, product improvement projects, etc. Education : B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mining Engineering or HET w / management experience Work Experience : 10+ years in mining equipment maintenance, repair, and assembly. The Opportunity
Responsible for leading all technical support to external and internal customers including continuous improvement and total cost of ownership (TCO) reduction initiatives, reliability monitoring, and project management of new machine builds.
The Role
- Promote a culture of safety including strict adherence to Wajax EH&S policies and procedures as well as those of the customer and Provincial / Federal OH&S.
- Acheson branch management and direct leadership for parts & service teams and mining technical teams including workload assignment and balancing, training, and performance management.
- Acheson rebuild center P&L responsibility.

Liaise with Hitachi Ex-Pat Engineer to support mining customers and Hitachi alike with technical inquiries.
Customer technical meetings are beneficial and drive continuous improvement in product problem resolution, engineered upgrades, and OEM support.
