Job description

Are you a skilled and passionate Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) eager to specialize in bovine health?

Seize this opportunity to join the trailblazing team at TELUS Agriculture and Consumer Goods (TAC) - a powerhouse committed to disrupting the status quo with state-of-the-art applications that leverage data to reimagine the way we approach food!

We are not just a team; we are an inspired collective on a relentless mission to establish the most trusted food system worldwide, unraveling transformative insights and optimizing processes from the fields to your plate. At TAC, we are more than just individuals; United in passion and purpose, we collaboratively breathe life into these extraordinary opportunities.

Our team and what we'll accomplish together

Join our Animal Health team, where you'll combine your Registered Veterinary Technician expertise with cutting-edge pharmacy operations to support one of Western Canada's most progressive cattle health teams. Working alongside veterinarians, other RVTs, field technicians, and producers, you'll be part of a supportive culture dedicated to meaningful work that directly impacts livestock health and agricultural sustainability. You'll have access to innovative digital health platforms and mentorship opportunities as you grow your career in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

What you'll do

  • Oversee and manage the pharmaceutical website for client prescriptions, dispensing, and annual prescription renewals
  • Lead warehouse operations including picking, packing, and shipping pharmaceutical products with accuracy and efficiency
  • Perform clinical procedures and support veterinarians on animal health initiatives
  • Manage inventory systems, monitoring short-dated and expired products to ensure quality control
  • Coordinate pharmaceutical transfers between clinic locations and deliver products to clients as required
  • Provide exceptional customer service by taking orders, educating clients, and addressing questions and concerns over the phone and in person
  • Use internal accounting systems and digital health platforms to manage daily operations and maintain detailed records

What you bring

  • Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license from ABVMA or other provincial veterinary association
  • Veterinary Technologist or Animal Health Technologist Diploma from an accredited school with active path to obtaining license
  • Proficiency with computer systems including MS Excel, MS Word, and Google Suites
  • Basic understanding of feedlot, cow/calf, and dairy production systems
  • Strong customer service skills with ability to communicate effectively with clients and producers
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask under pressure
  • Physical capability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds in a warehouse environment
  • Ability to prioritize and work both independently and as part of a team
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and comfort with daily short to medium-distance travel

Great-to-haves

  • Experience in livestock medicine or veterinary pharmacy operations
  • Tech-savvy approach to learning new digital health platforms
  • Passion for mentoring and supporting team members

Benefits & Work Environment

This full-time position offers competitive salary, paid ABVMA dues, paid continuing education (CE) allowance, comprehensive health benefits, pension, and training including forklift certification. Regular hours are 8:30am–4:30pm, Monday to Friday, with a paid lunch break. Some flexibility may be needed to meet client priorities.

At TELUS Agriculture and Consumer Goods, we pledge our commitment to actively promote diversity, equity, inclusion, reconciliation and accessibility. We celebrate and value your unique perspective and life experiences, and we invite you to join us in our journey of growth and learning. Together, we aspire to foster a global community where all individuals are respected, heard, and can authentically bring their whole selves to work.

A significant and sustained effort will be made to support candidates from equity-deserving groups and with lived experience of marginalization and oppression (including Black, Indigenous and People of Colour, LGBTQIA2S+ and persons with disabilities). We offer accommodation for applicants with disabilities during the recruitment process.
