Summary Pacificom is seeking a Low Voltage Security Technician. This role focuses on installing/servicing electronic access control, IP-based CCTV, burglar alarm monitoring, IP audio, IP life safety, IT cabling and network infrastructure, and systems integration. As a Security Systems Technician, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality system installations, configurations, and integrations for our clients, with exposure to programming, commissioning, and advanced troubleshooting. You will play a key role in ensuring the functionality, reliability, and integration of building security, audio, and healthcare systems in healthcare and institutional environments across Western Canada, directly impacting customer satisfaction. Responsibilities - Install, configure, program, commission, and integrate IP-based electronic access control, CCTV, burglar alarms, Voice-over-IP audio, life safety systems, and structured cabling networks. - Diagnose and resolve technical network issues related to system functionality (LAN/WAN, IP configurations, DHCP, DNS, basic routing), ensuring seamless system integration. - Deliver exceptional customer service, communicating clearly and professionally. - Perform on-site client visits for installation, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and system integration of security, audio, IP telephony, and IT network infrastructure. - Collaborate with the team to build complex, integrated systems in new or retrofit construction projects. - Assist with cabling installations for audio and network systems as needed. - Participate in team meetings to share solutions, improvements, and deployment strategies. - Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in professional sound, IP telephony, networking, systems integration, and technical support. Qualifications - Practical experience with IP-based security systems and system integration, including IP access control, IP CCTV, or burglar alarm systems. - Knowledge of IP audio and life safety systems, such as Nurse Call systems, is a strong asset. - Understanding of networking fundamentals (LAN/WAN), including TCP/IP, basic routing, firewalls, DHCP, and DNS. - Comfortable performing regular field work throughout British Columbia. - Strong customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written. - Ability to troubleshoot independently, manage multiple tasks, and work efficiently in a field environment. - Basic cabling installation knowledge (audio, network) is a plus. - Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to client locations (Western Canada) If you're ready to take your career to the next level and grow with a company that values innovation and teamwork, we invite you to apply today!
