The CASA Classrooms program provides individual and group therapy, psychiatric care, medication management and schooling according to each student’s individual need. CASA Classrooms are CASA’s new model for school-based mental health service.

The program is delivered in partnership with the Government of Alberta, community partners and school divisions.

Job Details Wage range: 33.92 to 41.70 Vacation: Accrual of 4.18 hours per pay period Shift structure: Monday to Friday, 7.25 hours per day Primary location: Wetaskiwin Secondary location(s): Lacombe Union: In-scope Classification: Therapy Support Navigator FTE: 1.0 Status : Permanent Hybrid/Multi-site About the Role Reporting to the Clinical Manager and Program Supervisor, the Therapy Support Navigator works closely with the Mental Health Therapist (MHT) in the classrooms care team to support screening, case management, delivery of treatment and achievement of treatment/transition plans.

The Therapy Support Navigator has an integral role within the therapy team to provide treatment extension and promote the uptake and application of skills within family and school settings.

The Therapy Support Navigator also facilitates child, adolescent and parent treatment groups under the supervision of the Mental Health Therapist.

The Therapy Support Navigator will: Provide hands-on modelling and coaching to family members as determined by the MHT and guided by the treatment plan.

Complete weekly phone contacts with families as assigned to review treatment strategies and gather updates for the treatment team.

Engage in facility, school and/or home observations and prepare observation reports for MHTs.

Assist in group facilitation, set up and take down, observation and note taking as required in groups for patients and families.

Attend staff planning sessions, patient case conferences and client meetings to provide information surrounding community supports available upon discharge.

Complete relevant electronic medical record documentation.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong knowledge and skills in behaviour management techniques.

Knowledge and awareness of community resources.

Excellent case management skills.

Strong critical thinking skills.

Demonstrated analytic and problem-solving ability.

Appreciation of interdisciplinary approach to mental health illness.

Ability to work and communicate in a cooperative, respective manner with all staff.

Demonstrated ability to adapt to new or unexpected situations, flexibility in approach to interpersonal situations.

Demonstrated computer skills (e.g.

Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).

Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s degree in social work, child and youth care, early childhood education or a related discipline such as psychology, social sciences, etc.

Active registration under the Health Professions Act, if eligible.

Practical experience in a children’s mental health treatment setting.

Conditions of Employment A satisfactory Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Intervention Check.

This would be the financial responsibility of the successful candidate.

Ability to pass and maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification (training provided by CASA) as well as physical ability to perform all interventions.

Working Conditions Va lid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
