Job description

Adecco is currently hiring a Shipping & Receiving Associate for a full-time opportunity within a fast-paced warehouse and distribution environment in Cumberland, ON. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in shipping, receiving, inventory management, and forklift operation who enjoy hands-on work and take pride in maintaining organized, efficient warehouse operations.

  • Pay Rate: $20/hour
  • Location: Cumberland, ON
  • Shift: Monday to Friday | 8 AM - 6 PM
  • Job type: Temporary with possibility of permanence | Full-time

Responsibilities:
Shipping & Receiving

  • Prepare outgoing shipments, including packing, labeling, and shipping documentation.
  • Receive and inspect inbound shipments to verify accuracy and identify any damage.
  • Process shipping and receiving paperwork and maintain accurate records.
  • Ensure all incoming and outgoing inventory is properly documented and tracked.

Warehouse Operations & Inventory Control

  • Organize and maintain inventory to ensure efficient storage and accessibility.
  • Perform regular inventory counts and support inventory audits.
  • Load and unload trucks while ensuring products are handled safely and accurately.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment in accordance with safety procedures.
  • Assist with material movement throughout the facility.

General Warehouse Support

  • Support production, quality, and other departments as required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all company health, safety, and operational procedures.
  • Participate in team meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
  • Previous experience in shipping and receiving, warehouse operations, or inventory control.
  • Forklift certification is considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Basic computer skills and experience using inventory management systems.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy and productivity.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
