The Geotechnical team includes more than 85 employees who, in recent years, have contributed to major projects such as the Réseau express métropolitain (REM), the Samuel-De Champlain Bridge, and the development of Québec's battery industry.
Your role- Perform technical tasks (testing and inspection) in accordance with Work Instructions and directions received from the Project Manager or Coordinator;
- Carry out geotechnical field investigation campaigns (an asset);
- Perform sampling and description of soil, rock, and groundwater;
- Conduct in-situ geotechnical testing in soils and rock;
- Ensure material compliance (aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and related materials) upon arrival at the construction site;
- Perform quality control testing on site for granular materials (compaction verification, excavation base validation, etc.);
- Report any deviations in material installation through non-conformance memos and prepare a site report for each intervention performed;
- Collaborate with the project technical team by ensuring follow-up on site requirements;
- Calibrate field equipment to ensure accuracy of measurements and results;
- Apply all applicable Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) measures;
- Prepare and complete a site report for each site visit;
- Report technical issues to the Project Manager or Coordinator.
About you- College diploma (DEC) in environmental studies, or a degree in geology, mineral technology, or an equivalent field;
- Minimum of 10 years of experience;
- Knowledge of soil identification;
- Full proficiency in spoken French;
- ASP Construction card;
- Knowledge of field measurement equipment;
- Valid driver's license;
- Access to a personal vehicle.
