Job descriptionRead and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables or study sample parts to determine machining operation to be performed, and plan best sequence of operations Compute dimensions, tolerances and measure and lay out work pieces Set-up, operate and maintain a variety of machine tools including computer numerically controlled tools to perform precision, non-repetitive machining operations Fit and assemble machined metal parts and subassemblies using hand and power tools Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specification using precision measuring instruments Ensure the cleanliness and deburring on parts as required Follow prescribed safety standards, rules and regulations Instill a safety culture; lead by example Identify and record non-conformities and participate in their resolution Participate in continuous improvement initiativesRecommend improvements and develop improvement plans in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions Maintain a well-organized and clean facility as per Prairie Machine vision Maintain all equipment and tools per recommended procedures Ability to work as a respectable, professional and efficient team member Maintain a healthy work environment and develop employees on a professional level Apprentice / Journeyperson or equivalent relevant experience 4+ years of production and machining experience Experience with ERP Systems

The Lathe Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating and maintaining a Fanuc CNC Lathe to machine precision parts according to engineering drawings and specifications. The role involves setup, programming, measuring, inspecting and ensuring high-quality production within specified tolerances while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
