Position Summary

Manager, Project Delivery – Long-Term Care (LTC)
NYG is embarking on the largest capital expansion in its history. A new Long-Term Care Development (LTCD) will be constructed on the 4000 Leslie Street site, replacing NYG’s existing long-term care home and significantly expanding long-term care capacity with a total of 528 beds as part of a senior’s campus of care.

The Manager, Project Delivery - LTC provides leadership to ensure clinical and operational requirements are effectively integrated into the delivery of this major capital project. As the Clinical Planning Lead, this role will bring clinical expertise in long-term care to a highly collaborative project team. This role will support preparation for opening day, including development of clinical workflows, policies, staffing models, and other clinical readiness planning, while supporting other workstreams requiring clinical input to ensure resident safety, efficiency, and quality outcomes. The position leads stakeholder engagement, and clinical readiness planning to ensure alignment across multidisciplinary teams. It also supports coordinated decision-making and transition planning to enable safe and effective activation of the new facility.

On a practical level, you will

• Translate clinical and non-clinical workflows, operational models, and program requirements into clear guidance for the project delivery team.
• Liaise with program clinical leadership to ensure alignment with workflow intent, resident safety, accessibility, infection prevention, equipment requirements, ergonomics, and operational efficiency.
• Lead the process for clinical approvals, Ministry of Long-Term Care compliance checks, and change control documentation and escalation of unresolved issues or decisions
• Ensure clinical requirements are incorporated into room layouts, staffing assumptions, SOP development, and transition planning and operational readiness.
• Lead structured engagement with clinical programs, physician leaders, nursing, allied health, and support service, project teams, and other required stakeholders
• Facilitate user group meetings, design review workshops, workflow mapping sessions, and clinical validation activities.
• Document clinical requirements, decisions, and outstanding issues, ensuring timely escalation when required.
• Support clinical, operational and executive leadership with briefing materials, recommendations and decision records for key decisions and approvals.
• Facilitate multidisciplinary evaluation of proposed layouts, equipment configurations, adjacencies, and staffing models.
• Ensure consistent documentation and traceability of decisions across departments.
• Collaborate with operational readiness, facilities, ICAT, equipment planning, and education teams to develop clinical transition plans.
• Support Day One readiness activities including workflow testing, equipment commissioning, orientation, training, and clinical activation exercises.
• Contribute to structured project management processes within the project team, including issue tracking, risk reviews, schedule coordination, and integrated planning activities.
• Participate in the preparation of governance materials for NYGH internal committees.
• Maintain clear, organized documentation and ensure communication pathways support timely decision making across the project.
• Responsible for developing and enforcing departmental policies, procedures and workflows

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a clinical discipline (e.g., Nursing or Allied Health)
• Regulated healthcare professional in good standing (e.g., Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist, or equivalent)
• Master’s degree in a health- or business-related field preferred
• Project Management designation would be an asset (PMP)
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Clinical operations/management in a Long-Term Care setting
• Experience in healthcare project delivery, redevelopment, and/or related roles involving clinical stakeholder engagement preferred
• Demonstrated experience facilitating structured user engagement sessions, translating clinical workflows into project requirements, and supporting design or operational planning processes.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with clinical leaders, interprofessional teams, consultants, and project partners.
• Demonstrated knowledge of hospital design processes, functional programming, or clinical workflow planning.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and analytical skills with the ability to gather, validate, and synthesize input from multiple stakeholder groups.
