Title : Business Controller

Location : Montreal-East, QC

Salary : Competitive + Bonus

This role acts as a business partner, using financial data to drive strategic decisions and improve operational efficiency.

Core responsibilities :

Financial management : Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, payroll, and tax compliance. Ensure the accuracy of financial statements, manage the monthly close process, and maintain internal controls.
Strategic planning and analysis : Develop long-term business and financial plans, forecast future performance, and analyze key business indicators.
Performance and profitability : Monitor and report on business performance, identify opportunities for cost reduction, and improve profitability.
Budgeting : Coordinate and manage the annual budgeting process and develop financial plans for specific projects.
Risk management : Identify and mitigate operational and financial risks, ensuring compliance with government regulations and laws.
Business partnering : Work closely with other departments, such as sales and operations, to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.

Requirements :

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.

Experience in the manufacturing or mining sector is highly preferred.

Strong knowledge of financial regulations and accounting processes.

Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.

Proficiency in financial software and tools.

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

High level of integrity and reliability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation.
