The Business controller reports to the West Canada Chief Financial Officer and is responsible to deliver to Senior Management all information requested on group performances, issues or risks in order to help them to make accurate decisions.

  • Ensures that the Group’s management rules are respected and applied;
  • Prepares reporting for budget and forecasting with periodic updates;
  • Ensures divisional operational accounts are reliable by checking and verifying; K factor, job results, risks on receivables, stocks, Follow-up on billing;
  • Ensures group management accounts are reliable; financial reporting; overhead; variances (labour and equipment), global risks;
  • Support month end activities including preparing / reviewing monthly and quarterly financial reporting;
  • Works with the Finance team, CFO and accounting team to coordinate the year-end audit and preparation of audited financial statements.
  • Assists with external audit process including liaise with auditors, prepare and review working papers for auditors;
  • Responds to all inquiries from senior management, provides analysis, assess, supports and advises senior managers;
  • Ensures that management results are reflected in the general accounting by carrying out accounting controls;
  • Carries out specific control missions at the request of the senior management (BU and job reviews)
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Professional designation (CPA / master degree in Finance / business school)
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in reporting in a multi divisional organization, preferably with experience in the construction industry
  • Previous experience with SAP ERP ( kheops / E Cube) would be highly appreciated
  • Adeptness in building and implementing reporting systems to meet reporting requirements
  • The ability to assimilate the culture of the business quickly and work effectively in an environment that will require adaptation and change to meet new reporting requirements
  • Desire to work with a team to make system improvements
  • Strong MS Excel skills (vlookups, pivot tables etc.)
  • French language skills would be an asset, but not required
