ABOUT WILLIAMS LAKE FIRST NATION (WLFN)
The Williams Lake First Nation (WLFN) or the Texelcemc (people of WLFN) have belonged to the Secwepemc (or Shuswap) Nation for over 6500 years. Today the WLFN community includes a growing population of over 800 registered members who live on reserve in Sugar Cane in nearby Williams Lake BC and across the globe.

POSITION
Reporting to the Manager Natural Resources the Regulatory Engagement Coordinator is a pivotal member of the Natural Resources Department responsible for managing and responding to land and resource referrals coordinating regulatory engagement processes and ensuring that WLFNs Title Rights and stewardship values are upheld in all regulatory and permitting activities within the WLFN Stewardship Area. The Regulatory Engagement Coordinator supports intergovernmental relations contributes to policy development and engages with provincial and federal agencies industry proponents and other stakeholders to advocate for WLFNs interests.
Employment Type
Full time 35 hours per week.
Probation Period
3 months from the date of hire.
Education Required
- Post-secondary training in a diploma program or undergraduate degree in a related field such as Forestry Biology Geographic Information Systems (GIS) First Nations Studies Natural Resources Environmental management Public Policy / Political Science or related field is an asset.
Experience Required
Overtime Status
Non-exempt.
