Grande Prairie also has a vibrant arts and culture community including live theatre.The Grande Prairie Regional Hospital (GPRH) is bringing care closer to home for the nearly 400,000 Albertans living in the North Zone. With a state-of-the-art cancer care facility, increased bed capacity, and a robust referral center, the GPRH will become an important health hub for northwest Alberta. Come to northern Alberta, where the people are warm, you can expand your horizons, and experience the beauty of the North. The GPRH Emergency Department consists of a 4 Trauma bays, 7 treatment stretchers, 11 cardiac monitored stretchers and 1 seclusion room. Our team provides exemplary emergency room care for patients in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team environment. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will play an important role in supporting and integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will contribute your nursing assessment, interpersonal and written documentation skills to assist with the treatment of trauma-associated injury. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

Description:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $ to $ per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article or (ii), as applicable.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the past five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required prior to employment: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4): NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification:

Additional Required Qualifications:

Demonstrates strong critical thinking skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

ACLS, PALS, NRP, CTAS, TNCC, Emergency experience within the last 12 months.
