We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse or Advanced Care Paramedic to work at our Lodges located around the Fort McMurray area, on a rotational basis of 15 days on and 13 days off, as required by the business.
Meals, accommodations, and monthly travel allowance will be provided. The successful candidate will be required to provide patient care within their scope of practice and under the direction of the Medical Officer.
You will be responsible to respond to after-hours emergency call outs as required. The successful candidate will have the support of Lodge Management, Occupational Health Nurses, as well as the Health and Ability Services Department.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond and provide first aid and emergency care within their scope of practice as needed.
- Respond to emergency medical call out situations on site.
- Establish basic differential diagnosis and treatment plan and consult with the Medical Director as required.
- Assess and treat injuries and illness when they present into the onsite medical clinic
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of and adherence to all applicable legislation, standards, and guidelines.
- Responsible for coordinating COVID -19 management and response within the camps environment if required.
- Provide assistance to Health & Ability Services team such as medical consults and filing of WCB documents etc. when not responding to an emergency.
Qualifications
- Currently hold RN registration with CARNA and in good standing or Advanced Care Paramedic license
- Minimum of 2+ years’ experience related to emergency response
- Valid BLS and ACLS being an asset
- Experience in Occupational Health Nursing considered asset
- Experience in WCB case management considered an asset.
- Class 5 Operator’s License, with a 5 - year driving record satisfactory to Civeo’s driving criteria.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good judgment, the ability to make decisions quickly and calmly in stressful situations.
- Ability to deal with employees and members of the public in a professional, tactful manner.
- Ability to understand, follow and enforce specific instructions, procedures, and Company protocols (including safety codes and regulations).
- Must poses working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be able to pass a pre-access Drug & Alcohol test.
