Our client is sourcing a Controller for a 3-month contract.

About the Opportunity

• Shape and guide financial decision-making through the creation, oversight, and reinforcement of internal financial frameworks

Design and maintain control mechanisms that safeguard organizational resources, workflows, and operational integrity

Provide hands-on leadership to the accounting function, fostering accountability, collaboration, and efficiency

Support, develop, and coach team members through ongoing guidance and performance support

Monitor protections around incoming funds, expenditures, and departmental and company-wide financial plans

Ensure all financial activity is captured accurately and within required timelines

Partner with executive leadership to define performance metrics and reporting structures across monthly, quarterly, and annual cycles

Apply consistent financial methodologies across business units while staying aligned with evolving statutory requirements

Maintain adherence to all applicable federal, provincial, and professional compliance obligations

Oversee statutory remittances, including indirect taxes and payroll-related filings

Prepare and review recurring and period-end accounting adjustments

Own the integrity and structure of the primary accounting records

Review and authorize balance sheet and control account reconciliations

Produce management-level financial reporting with variance and trend analysis

Build and maintain short-term liquidity forecasting models (13-week and 26-week horizons)

Contribute to annual planning processes, including forecasts and financial outlooks

Support financial systems, ERP tools, and accounting technology initiatives

Coordinate and manage external audit activities and supporting documentation

About You

Professional accounting designation required (CPA)

Postsecondary education in accounting, finance, or a related discipline preferred

Progressive experience in senior accounting or finance roles (5–10 years)

Demonstrated people-leadership experience (minimum 3–5 years)

Strong technical proficiency in spreadsheet-based financial analysis

Practical exposure to Tier 1 or Tier 2 ERP platforms
