STA2551HS LEC0101 : Finance & Insurance Case Studies (0.125 FCE per instructor)

This graduate course takes cases from a variety of problems in the financial and insurance worlds and students will work in groups to develop both the theory and implementation of cases, write reports and deliver presentations on their findings.

The course will be led by industry practitioners. Sample topics include : Solvency II, Pension Benefits Act, valuing and managing complex annuity riders.

Qualifications : Relevant background and education in the field of Actuarial Science. Currently active in the finance industry with at least five years’ experience in finance / insurance.

Prior experience teaching at the university level. Prior experience teaching STA2551 or a similar course an asset

De scription of duties : Preparation and delivery of lectures in this course. Preparation, supervision and grading of assignments, tests, and final examinations in accordance with university regulations;

reporting final grades; counseling students; supervising teaching assistant(s).
