About the role
Based in Toronto, our user experience team is a part of Design at Info-Tech Research Group.
We are seeking a senior user experience designer (hybrid) who follows human-centered design principles.
Do you understand how discovery, standards, requirements, and research findings influence structure and design? Are you effective at presenting results, insights, requirements, and visuals in a compelling way to leadership and product teams?
The senior user experience designer will be responsible for working with stakeholders, gathering requirements for interaction projects, and visualizing a shared understanding of the needs of leadership, product, and development.
This includes the critical work of translating research that forms a core part of Info-Tech's product offerings into informative and supportive interaction designs and data visualizations.
Expectations
- Collaboration experience with cross-functional teams of Designers, Researchers, Engineers, Content Strategists, Product Managers, and Leadership throughout the design process.
- Work evolves depending on the organization’s needs and may include discovery, journey mapping, architecture, and prototyping in an ambiguous space that requires critical thinking while managing multiple projects.
- Familiarity with the UX design process in an agile, product-driven hybrid environment.
- Superior time-management and problem-solving abilities accompany excellent tools & tech knowledge.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate has :
- 7+ years of experience in user experience including a portfolio highlighting your projects & contributions.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education in UX, HCI, Design, or related field.
- Strongly grounded in UX & design principles, the successful candidate has a practical understanding of how to apply knowledge in research, taxonomy, interaction, usability, and accessibility standards.
- Experience in working with and gathering requirements from stakeholders and internal users.
- Experience with group facilitation, project inception & planning, and presentation.
- Present work done in a logical manner including discovery, research, data visualizations, graphing, architectures, flows, systems, and prototypes.
- Expertise in creating user flows, and mapping journeys with an excellent understanding of typography, sketching, mapping, and layout.
- Excellence in typography, design and wireframing tools.
- A practical understanding of different research methods, how to report findings and make insights, and how applied learnings evolve design including proficiency in presenting insights to key partners.
- Familiarity with the design, setup, and implementation of research utilizing various methods including but not limited to interviews, usability studies, contextual inquiry, and surveys.
- Extensive knowledge of Figma, Figjam or similar tools.
