The Opportunity The Field Survey Assistant works primarily in the field under the direction of a Project Manager and a Field Survey Technician (Party Chief).

The Field Survey Assistant will assist the Party Chief in all aspects of survey work. They will work on a wide range of projects from land development and strata / air space work, topographic and rights-of-way surveys for infrastructure and capital works projects, construction and monitoring surveys, surveys on First Nation lands and many other diverse types of surveys.

Duties & Responsibilities Set up and use a variety of surveying instruments such as total stations, GNSS receivers etc. Assist Party Chiefs in preparation of field survey records.

Assist in organization and maintenance of survey equipment. Clear vegetation and debris for measurements to be taken. Follow all safety guidelines provided by Aplin & Martin.

Be a positive representative of the company to your co-workers, the public, and clients Skills & Qualifications Survey or Geomatics Technology Diploma is an asset.

1-3 years' experience in a survey role preferred Work experience in a legal survey environment is preferred. Physically fit and capable of lifting and carrying survey equipment.

Ability to work in a variety of outdoor settings and weather conditions. Ability to work as a team member and take direction.

Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally. Valid BC driver’s license. Available to work out of town occasionally, and, Availability of personal vehicle for business use (mileage will be compensated).

Compensation The wage range for this position is $25 to $31.50 per hour, commensurate with experience, skillsets, and qualifications.
