As the Payroll and Benefits Manager at TANK WW, you will report to our Chief Financial Officer and will play a key role in managing the payroll and benefits for our agency, which comprises over 400 employees in Ontario and Quebec.
We are looking for a professional with substantial payroll experience who is ready to embrace a new challenge! You will be responsible for ensuring that all employees are paid according to our twice a month payroll schedule, as well as managing employee benefits programs to ensure they are competitive, compliant, and effectively administered.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING :
Payroll Management
- Process twice a month payroll via ADP Workforce Now software, including for both full-time and contract staff.
- Maintain the ADP database with all employee information, including new hires, payroll updates, updated group benefit premiums, terminations, etc.
- Stay current with payroll legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Prepare all government remittances as required by law within the stipulated timeframes and reconcile payroll records to monthly statements.
- Produce Records of Employment (ROEs).
- Handle year-end payroll processes, including preparation and verification of T4s.
- Respond to and assist employees with payroll-related queries.
- Generate ad hoc, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Complete, store, and maintain all payroll records and information in compliance with governing legislation and for audit purposes.
- Perform other payroll duties and projects as assigned.
Benefits Management :
- Oversee and administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other company-provided benefits.
- Evaluate and compare existing company benefits with those of other employers by analyzing other plans, surveys, and other sources of information.
- Monitor benefits trends and legislative changes to ensure compliance and recommend updates to current benefits programs.
- Conduct benefits orientations and explain the company's benefits offerings to new employees.
- Coordinate with insurance brokers and providers to resolve benefits-related issues.
- Manage annual benefits enrollment processes and ensure accurate and timely communication with employees.
- Prepare and distribute benefits-related communications and materials to employees.
- Create and maintain records of benefits plan participation such as insurance and pension plan enrollments and employee contributions.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR :
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in payroll processing.
- Certification from the Canadian Payroll Association would be considered an asset.
- Strong working knowledge of Excel is essential, as well as proficiency in Outlook and Word.
- Current knowledge of payroll legislation in both Quebec and Ontario.
- Accounting experience would be considered an asset.
- Proven ability to handle confidential information and work under pressure with tight deadlines.
- Experience in problem-solving, analytical thinking, and prioritization of tasks.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Given the daily interactions required with colleagues and / or clients primarily located outside of Quebec, this role requires proficiency in both French and English.
- Knowledge of Workday is an asset.
