What you will do
Leads a team of HVAC Equipment Systems Application Specialists to support the Sales Team by assisting with pre and post sales activities on building systems and equipment project opportunities.
Pre-sales activities include, but are not limited to : system configuration validation, HVAC equipment selection for basis of design as well as bidding, application and pricing.
Post-sales activities include : equipment execution that is profitable, accurate, on-time, within the scope of the contract and in alignment with customers’ expectations.
With focus on equipment slippage, avoids and minimizes slippage, following up to prevent reoccurrence.
How you will do it
Provides training and support on project management practices and the equipment order execution process.
Supports the development of accurate, detailed submittals to communicate design, configuration, operation, and installation requirements to customers, consultants, service team and subcontractors.
Assists in revenue forecasting, collections and resource planning.
Manages the overall performance of System Application Specialists.
Establishes goals and development plans for staff. Evaluates employee performance, performs salary management and promotes team development.
Acts as the first level of escalation for any issues related to equipment orders, order commitments, delivery, final payment and customer satisfaction.
Acts as the local expert on equipment to assist in the interpretation of engineering drawings and specifications.
Reviews equipment and controls estimates, proposals, selections, engineering submittals, and purchase, etc.
Communicates process problems, warranty trends, systemic delivery issues to leadership. Participates in review sessions and feedback groups.
Provides technical support, selections and limited estimating support during project design or proposal phase. Assists as needed in developing the customer business case for the conceptual solution.
What we look for
Required
Technical diploma or degree in Engineering, buildings, building environmental systems technology, construction, HVAC & R technician, business; or
Certification in a relevant field such as HVAC Technician or Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic.
HVAC equipment knowledge.
5+ years’ Application Engineering experience.
Ability to simultaneously handle a large and diverse number of projects.
Supervisory experience is required.
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is preferred.
5+ years’ HVAC experience is preferred.
Experience in the construction industry.
Understanding of accounting principles and cost management.
