The Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary-Maritimes, a not-for-profit organization , plays a significant role in supporting the Canadian Coast Guard with Search and Rescue emergencies in the Maritime Region.
The CCGA-M responds year-round to 30% of the on-water marine emergencies with over 750 volunteer members and 420 vessels covering the coastlines of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and the Magdalen Islands.
The Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary- Maritime Region is seeking a detail-oriented and versatile Operations Coordinator to join their team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating various operational tasks including writing proposals, managing Apple and Android tablet systems, conducting public outreach, and organizing events.
You will possess excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Main responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Creating proposals and developing presentations for projects, initiatives, and partnerships.
- Managing Apple and Android tablet systems, including troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring smooth operation.
- Conducting public outreach initiatives to engage with community members, stakeholders, and potential partners.
- Assisting in the planning, coordination, and execution of events, meetings, event schedule management, and attendee communication.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to operations, projects, and events.
- Serving as a point of contact for internal and external inquiries related to operations and projects.
- Assisting in the implementation of operational policies and procedures to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
- Supporting other team members and departments as needed to achieve organizational objectives.
- Conducting train-the-trainer sessions
The successful candidate will have experience writing policies and procedures, developing and delivering presentations, and working with diverse groups of stakeholders.
They will possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to develop relationships with volunteers to deliver water safety programs, as well as the ability to create social media channels and develop content for the organization’s website.
Other requirements include :
- Experience working with Apple and Android products
- Proficiency in Office 365 (Including database)
- Access to a reliable vehicle
- Bilingual (English and French) is considered an asset
The successful candidate will complete a vulnerable sector search before their start date as part of the recruitment process.
