Summary :

Ourclient has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Property Accountantto join their team! The role is a comprehensiveposition that requires the individual to perform financialstatement analysis and review prepare financial reports forselected properties and provide accounting support to theoperations group.

This position will report to the AccountingManager and is responsible to ensure that monthly deadlines are metand special projects are completed in a timely manner.

This rolerequires the individual to have a thorough understanding ofproperty accounting and solid communication and interpersonalskills.

Responsibilities

Ensure that financialinformation are accurate and timely and deadlines aremet.

Produce monthlyquarterly and year end closing complete annual budget process andquarterlyforecast.

Completeyear end operating cost and tax adjustments and tenant billing(13th invoice) for assignedproperties.

Reconciliationand understanding of all balance sheet accounts produce financialstatements monthly packages and supplementary reporting for variousproperties (office industrialretail).

Performmonthly accounting functions including but not limit to balancingof sub ledgers to general ledger posting journal entries analyzingbalance sheet accounts bank reconciliation and posting monthlytenantchargebacks.

EnsureGST / QST are reconciled andremitted

Coordinatethe input of bad debt provisions bad debt write offs and tenant.

Monitorcash flows and anticipate future cashdeficiencies.

Workproactively with the operations leasing and construction groups inorder to produce comprehensive quality monthly reports and provideguidance on proper accountingtreatment.

Preparesupporting working papers and documentation for year end auditprocess.

Qualifications

Enrollmentin a professional accounting program & / or CPA or equivalentexperience.

Minimum3 years related property management accounting experiencepreferred.

StrongExcel skills a must YARDI SPACE (an asset) or other real estateaccountingsystems.

Stronginterpersonal skills; ability to deal effectively with multipledemands and deliverables and remain professional in stressfulsituations.

Beable to troubleshoot and respond quickly to client sdemands.

Independentself starter as well as a teamplayer.

Abilityto take initiative in a client focused manner and deal effectivelywith situations work well underpressure.

Takeownership of portfolio with clients with differentrequirements

Excellentorganizational and time managementskills.

Excellentwritten and oral communication skills in English and French;ability to draft edit and format professional businesscorrespondence
