As a Regional Manager, Distributed Learning with Vancouver Coastal Health you will :
- Lead a strategic and innovative approach in the development, implementation and evaluation of distributed education programs including Web-based instruction, video conferencing, distance learning through television or video, or other combinations of electronic and traditional educational models for students and health care professionals throughout Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH).
- Work with Clinical Directors, Managers, Professional Practice Directors and Clinical Educators across the health authority in the development of the overall distributed education strategy.
- Ensure program content and delivery are aligned with VCH strategic directions and individual program directions in building capacity to deliver quality client care.
- Develop operational and risk management strategies.
- Provide direction to staff in the utilization of best practice modalities in the execution of programs and related initiatives.
- Build partnerships with educational institutions and negotiate contractual agreements.
- Represent Learning and Career Development on relevant internal / external committees, working and advisory groups as applicable.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Masters’ degree in Adult Education including e-learning / simulation instructional design and delivery.
- Seven (7) to ten (10) years’ of recent development and delivery experience with at least five (5) years’ of leadership experience in this field.
- Experience in the healthcare or education sector preferred.
Knowledge & Abilities
- Comprehensive knowledge and skill in adult education theory, instructional design and curriculum development in the planning, implementation and evaluation of educational programs.
- Comprehensive knowledge of computer hardware, multimedia applications and other technical requirements.
- Demonstrated experience and success in the development and implementation of distributed learning across a large complex organization.
- Comprehensive knowledge of best practices and evidence based research in the development and delivery of educational programs for healthcare disciplines.
- Solid understanding of clinical areas requiring specialty education and knowledge of trends and advancements in specialty education program offerings.
- Superior writing, speaking, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Superior investigative, systematic, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully work under pressure and attend to details, as well as effectively work on multiple projects with competing priorities / deadlines.
- Strong team and customer orientation and successful experience in coaching, motivating, and developing skills of staff.
- Strong process design, project management and policy development skills in the design and development of educational strategies and initiatives.
