Senior Traffic Manager
Brandt is currently looking for a Senior Traffic Manager in our Regina location. Reporting to the Director of Traffic, the Senior Traffic Manager manages the day-to-day international Traffic Department, all carrier reviews, provide insight on all outstanding insurance claims, and provide transportation analyst service to the Traffic Department.
In addition to managing all international traffic activities and overseas shipping teams, the Senior Traffic Manager will play a key role in negotiating agreements with various vendors such as freight forwarders and customs brokerages.
This is ensured through consistent communication with all stakeholders involved. Primary focus is on the compliant, efficient, and cost-effective execution of shipments to meet and exceed customer expectations.
Delegation of tasks and time management are crucial elements of the position.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Negotiate agreements on all trade lanes with freight forwarders.
- Evaluate performance, freight pricing and communication of forwarders.
- Effective strategies to secure on-time delivery, carrier selection based on providing overall best value.
- Create, develop, and sustain strong relationships with freight forwarders and customs brokers.
- Creating long-term agreements to automate freight movements and negotiate a cost that departments can use
when budgeting.
- Provide support and management of Setup and the Setup crews
- Coordinate with purchasing and manufacturing timeline expectations of shipments vs. realistic market
conditions.
Oversee all carrier reviews and ensure carriers cargo insurance and all insurance requirements are up
to date to be a qualified carrier for Brandt.
Identify and address issues related to the traffic booking process, escalating unresolved issues to the
Director of Traffic.
Review all outstanding insurance claims and accidents between our carriers and all Brandt locations and
make recommendations to the Director of Traffic for a quick resolve
- Responsible for ongoing analysis and establishing reliable means of measuring supplier performance.
- Evaluate all LTL and Couriers to determine the overall Best Value for Brandt.
- Represent the Traffic Department in multi-discipline projects within Brandt.
- Assist in booking freight, if needed.

Required Skills
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business or relevant business experience
- 3 to 5+ years management experience in a logistics or supply chain operations
- Knowledge of Customs, DOT, and International shipping regulations a plus
- Proficient in ERP Systems, TMS and MS Office software with a strong focus on Excel.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
