Medical Claims Assistant - Remote
We are looking for two qualified individuals for our client in the insurance industry to work remotely as Medical Claims Assistants.
This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience in the disability and insurance department, particularly with short-term disability (STD) claims.
In this position, you will be responsible for high-volume data entry on non-complex STD claims, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and building strong service relationships with stakeholders.
What is in it for you :
- Hourly salary of $25 to $27, based on experience.
- 12-month contract.
- Fully remote, full-time position (37.5 hours per week).
- Flexible work hours : 7 am to 3 pm, 8 am to 4 pm, 9 am to 5 pm, or 10 am to 6 pm.
Responsibilities :
- Review and assess incoming STD claim applications against established criteria
- Identify and follow up on outstanding information to ensure accurate claim assessment
- Apply contractual provisions and set up STD claims using web-based software
- Build and maintain strong relationships with plan members, sponsors, healthcare providers, and internal partners
- Prioritize tasks to meet tight deadlines, constantly re-prioritizing based on business needs
- Ensure a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly with data entry, grammar, and numbers
- Maintain productive collaboration with internal teams to meet client service deliverables
What you will need to succeed :
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience in customer service or data entry roles
- Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders
- Great attention to detail and comfortable with repetitive tasks
- Bilingual fluency in English and French (spoken and written) to support clients in both languages.
