The Psychologist in our First Responder Mental Health Specialty Program will play an integral role as part of an interprofessional team that includes Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Psychiatrists and Physiotherapists.

You will perform assessments to identify mental health impairment and support the delivery of evidence-based interventions to assist clients on their road to recovery and return to work and life.

As a skilled Psychologist, you are an exceptional communicator who connects with the client’s community healthcare team to ensure care transitions are navigated effectively and efficiently.

You will produce clear and concise reports that will communicate your findings, client progress and abilities.

Virtual and in person treatment will be offered.

The successful candidate will possess :

• Knowledge in the field of social and health sciences as would be normally acquired through the completion of a Ph.D. in Psychology and registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.
• Extensive experience in the field of mental health, with a strong knowledge of trauma-based care and interventions.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are mandatory, as is demonstrated ability to deal congenially with a variety of people effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision
• Excellent time management skills are crucial to the effectiveness of the program
• Successful Candidate possesses the ability to adhere to deadlines and prioritize multiple projects effectively
• Planning of and preparing for presentations and training programs
• Knowledgeable in a variety of computer software applications and automated record keeping
• Demonstrated ability in adherence to client rights, understanding client’s ability to direct care and client confidentiality
• A valid Driver’s License, with a minimum G2 standing, and access to a reliable automobile for extensive travel throughout Southwestern Ontario.
• Bilingualism (English / French) is an asset.
