We are looking for an experienced Lead Hardware Engineer to join our growing team in our Toronto office. Reporting to the Director of Product & Hardware, this role will be critical in driving the development life cycle of our hardware product suite.

Leading a group of electrical and mechanical engineers, this role offers a mix of hands-on engineering and team leadership.

Your experience coupled with practical design talent will help elevate the performance of both our products and our engineering team.

In this role, you will be responsible for :

• Driving new hardware development from conceptualization to production, ensuring the end product meets customer needs.
• Collaborating with the Firmware and Software teams to deliver robust products.
• Shepherding new products into production, ensuring high-quality products can be repeatedly manufactured in a cost-effective way.
• Working closely with the Product Team to formulate design specifications in response to formal product requirements.
• Navigating products through applicable testing and certification.
• Mentoring teammates on engineering best practices.
• Planning day-to-day activities for the Hardware team as part of bi-weekly sprint planning, ensuring projects stay on track and are delivered on time and on spec.
• Staying up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies.

Hard Skills

• Team Lead - Experience managing a small team
• 5+ years of experience in hardware design - electronics / electrical
• Experience with embedded software, firmware & mechanical knowledge
• NPI experience - new production introduction (end-to-end development of product development lifecycle)

Soft Skills

• Strong desire to lead
• Excellent communication skills

This is a fully on-site position in Toronto, Ontario.

Work Environment

Our head office is located in Toronto, in a historical industrial building that has an open concept with 40-foot ceilings and lots of natural light.

Free parking is provided on-site and our office is easily accessible via transit.
